Economic cooperation

The economic potential of Venezuela has prompted some of the most important Italian companies to invest in the country, especially in the oil, construction, automotive and agribusiness sectors. Besides the presence of some giants of our industrial system (ENI, SAIPEM, Trevi, Nuovo Pignone, Ghella, Impregilo-Salini, Astaldi, Iveco, Pirelli and Parmalat), there are a number of Venezuelan businesses owned by Italian or Italian-Venezuelan citizens, including some of the country’s largest companies.

In Venezuela operates a bi-national Chamber of Commerce (CAVENIT), founded sixty years ago and which brings together over 800 companies, with sections in different cities of the country.

These Italian-owned Venezuelan companies have strong commercial relations with Italy and are responsible for a significant portion of our exchange with Venezuela.
